Avalon Forum - June 13th at 4:00 PM

Avalon will host the second Avalon monthly forum on Wednesday, June 13th at 4:00 Eastern.

Topics will include:

One of the publicly accessible collections Northwestern University has on its Repository site is The Robert Marcellus Master Class Audio Archives. The collection consists of 131 ¼” open reel audiotapes that have been digitized for preservation and access.

Happy World Day for Audiovisual Heritage!

Today, October 27, is the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. This commemorative day was chosen by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 2005 to raise public consciousness about the importance of preserving recorded sound and moving image media.

Open Access Publishing and Media at Indiana University

This interview is with Stefan Elnabli, Moving Image and Sound Preservation Specialist at Northwestern University. Stefan obtained a degree in audiovisual preservation from New York University's Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program at Tisch School of the Arts. His work with archival media includes stints in the WNET Channel 13 Digital Archive, Anthology Film Archives, and major university libraries such as New York University and Stanford University.
